On Mirrors: A Curation of Black Queer Poetry, Narrative, and Thought. Kelsey will share excerpts from their dissertation project titled, “On Mirrors: Radical Musings of Black, Queer Masculinity & Boihood Worldmaking.” They will engage attendees in an interactive conversation on interdisciplinary, community-based scholarship, while discussing his experience as a Black trans writer and thinker navigating academia. Kelsey will illustrate how his usage of oral history, auto-ethnography, poetics, and public-facing scholarship culminated in a dissertation project that rejects categorization and consciously blurs the boundaries between theory, art, and praxis.
