SUMMARY:AR Cité - Join the Tour this Thurs!
DESCRIPTION:Over the past 3 years dozens of Dawson students\, faculty and staff have been involved in the AR Cité Augmented Reality project.  We are very proud to have produced the AR Cité mobile app as well as the dozens of location-specific vignettes that teach us about the hidden stories that are all around us.   The app can be used as active pedagogy in classes\, for special events or whenever you’d like to discover a hidden story on campus or in the hood. \nWe’ll meet in Olivers (2C.17) at 3pm and then head outdoors around the campus grounds and surrounding streets where Nancy Rebelo (History) and I will give an approx. 30min tour (fingers crossed for good weather\, otherwise we do have a plan B). \nYou can also go ahead and download the app from the app stores and try it yourself\, anytime. \nHope to see you on Thursday!

DESCRIPTION:Close UP is a student-run Guest Speaker Film Series that aims to highlight the work of established and emerging Quebec filmmakers while allowing students to gain additional knowledge through a discussion period with the filmmakers following the screenings. \nGENERAL INFORMATION: \nPresented by Dawson College’s Department of Cinema-Communications   \nScreening April 25th — “Simo” directed by Aziz Zoromba in room 4C.1 from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm \nScreening May 9th — “Red Rooms/Les chambres rouge” directed by Pascal Plane from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm in room 5B.16 \nRound table script reading May 16th — “Baladi” with Writer\, Director\, Christine Tannous from 11:00 am-2:00 pm in Oliver’s \nEach event explores a different style of cinema\, from short coming of age to feature length thrillers\, meaning there is something for everyone. Students from all programs are encouraged to take part in the events which explore our local cinema from Close Up!
