SUMMARY:AR Cité - Join the Tour this Thurs!
DESCRIPTION:Over the past 3 years dozens of Dawson students\, faculty and staff have been involved in the AR Cité Augmented Reality project.  We are very proud to have produced the AR Cité mobile app as well as the dozens of location-specific vignettes that teach us about the hidden stories that are all around us.   The app can be used as active pedagogy in classes\, for special events or whenever you’d like to discover a hidden story on campus or in the hood. \nWe’ll meet in Olivers (2C.17) at 3pm and then head outdoors around the campus grounds and surrounding streets where Nancy Rebelo (History) and I will give an approx. 30min tour (fingers crossed for good weather\, otherwise we do have a plan B). \nYou can also go ahead and download the app from the app stores and try it yourself\, anytime. \nHope to see you on Thursday!

SUMMARY:Artists in Bloom - 26th Annual
DESCRIPTION:Artists in Bloom is an annual event held at Dawson College to raise funds for our students. During the event\, talented student artists from the Illustration\, Visual Arts and 3D Animation & Computer Generated Imagery programs create new works of art in real time before a live audience. These artworks are then auctioned off by a prominent figure from Montreal\, this year it will be Donna Saker from The Beat 92.5\, with all proceeds going towards Dawson students. \nThis year\, the funds raised will benefit the Dawson Athletics Department\, supporting our student-athletes. Over the past 26 years\, Artists in Bloom has raised almost  $160\,000 for various charitable initiatives. \nJoin us on April 18\, starting at 5:30 p.m.\, to witness Dawson’s student artists in action as they transform blank canvases into incredible artworks. \nWhile enjoying hors d’oeuvres\, drinks\, live music by Dawson student Alexander D’Alessio\, and mingling with fellow art lovers\, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favourite painting. Each ticket includes complimentary hors d’oeuvres and one drink\, with additional beverages available for purchase at the cash bar. There will also be a Kiddy Corner for budding young artists where they can create their own works of art. \nMore information: https://www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca/dawson-foundation/funds-activities/artists-in-bloom/

SUMMARY:Complex Exhibition + Vernissage
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Complex. Just as an apartment complex houses a group of dissimilar tenants\, who may have never crossed paths if not for the landlord\, our grouping of works comes together as an agglomeration of the creatives in the Dawson studio arts program.\nWe appreciate everyone who supports us in our vernissage\, and we hope to see you there!
