During the summer of 2018 three Dawson College students, Sophie Stattolin, Abigail Lalonde and Rachel Schleifer spent six weeks in Mexico doing an internship on Campus Sustainability. The internships are part of the Sustainable Campuses Initiative, a partnership between Dawson College and several Mexican universities in the state of Morelos. The Dawson interns will share the learning and experience gained at the Universidad Pedagogica Nacional and the Universidad Politecnica del Estado de Morelos, as well as offer reflections on their overall experience living in Mexico. The presentation will include the participation four exchange Mexican students (Luis Rios, Denisse San Juan, Kenia Botello and Lizandro Trujillo), who are the recipient of the Emerging Leaders of the Americas Program’s scholarship, as well as Luisa Montes, teacher from the Preparatoria Comunitaria de Tres Marias and Gisela Frias who coordinates the Sustainable Campuses initiative and Gisela Frias, the initiative’s coordinator.
