During the event\, talented student artists from the Illustration\, Visual Arts and 3D Animation & Computer Generated Imagery programs create new works of art in real time before a live audience. These artworks are then auctioned off by a prominent figure from Montreal\, this year it will be Donna Saker from The Beat 92.5\, with all proceeds going towards Dawson students. \nThis year\, the funds raised will benefit the Dawson Athletics Department\, supporting our student-athletes. Over the past 26 years\, Artists in Bloom has raised almost  $160\,000 for various charitable initiatives. \nJoin us on April 18\, starting at 5:30 p.m.\, to witness Dawson’s student artists in action as they transform blank canvases into incredible artworks. \nWhile enjoying hors d’oeuvres\, drinks\, live music by Dawson student Alexander D’Alessio\, and mingling with fellow art lovers\, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favourite painting. Each ticket includes complimentary hors d’oeuvres and one drink\, with additional beverages available for purchase at the cash bar. There will also be a Kiddy Corner for budding young artists where they can create their own works of art. \nMore information: https://www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca/dawson-foundation/funds-activities/artists-in-bloom/ URL:https://events.dawsoncollege.qc.ca/event/artists-in-bloom-26th-annual/ LOCATION:3C.1 CATEGORIES:Special Events ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://events.dawsoncollege.qc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/AIB_Square_Post.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART:20240420T120000 DTEND:20240420T170000 DTSTAMP:20240328T164407 CREATED:20240326T140632Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240327T135202Z UID:10005824-1713614400-1713632400@events.dawsoncollege.qc.ca SUMMARY:Cassie Paine: Pedestrian Values DESCRIPTION:Based in Montreal\, Cassie Paine is an installation artist\, sculptor\, and printmaker.   Using metal fabrication\, casting\, and interventionist tactics to alter coded materials and infrastructure found in public space\, her work critiques underlying power structures  and capitalist value systems focused on profit and development.
