October 23, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Free

The Dawson English Department is excited to host Paige Cooper as our Fall reader! We will also have one of our very talented students Jahliya Cummings open the event with a short reading of her work.

Paige Cooper is an editor and writer based in Montreal. Her work has appeared in The Journey Prize Stories and Best Canadian Stories anthologies. Her first book, Zolitude  was long listed for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, shortlisted for the Governor General’s Literary Award for Fiction, and won the Concordia University First Book Prize. Zolitude, is a short story collection that mixes social commentary with sci-fi and fantasy elements.

Jahliya Cummings is a 17 year old dancer from the South Shore here to present her slam poem “Not Your Average Black Girl.”
